its not easy training on yer own i know i did it ,started in august and trained on my own for two months or more then found out bout a local guy that was interested so trained with him for a month or so ,then we joined our local club and the sunday tours are great craic we did 75 kms on sunday morning 2hrs 45mins.so my advice get someone to train with much easier to motivate yourself(im 41 and my friend is 28) happy cycling!

+1 on joining your local club and fishing out people to train with, this forum being a good place to start.

Sorrento in Dalkey, Orwell Dundrum or Think Bike Rathmines are the ones I can think of down there.
