Well if they wiped and reinstalled everything on your laptop, you should have a full install of windows xp back on it. It is quite easy to reinstall, where are you based? If limerick/clare I can help, If not I am sure someone local will pipe up here.

"they" have done a pi$$ poor job if they didn't warn you of data loss and their inability to setup windows properly

if they warned you that's fair enough, but not if they claimed to be in any way shape or form to be professional

the manufacutrers web site should have drivers for that type of laptop

if however, you need to recover your files, then get a copy of photorec and use it to copy files from empty space to an external hard drive, but don't hold out much hope because the damage is done

    www.openoffice.org is free
word and excel are kinda expensive and need licenses

again if you need to recover files, try to do so before installing any more software or drivers as they will overwrite deleted files

The people who did that do not know much about computers. Assuming it was a windows crash, in all likelyhood all the files you wanted to keep like photos etc were just sitting there, waiting to be transferred off by any competent pc technician.
Considering it was just a reinstall and not a replacement of the harddrive, this is the most likely case.
