Hi all, new to the forum.
I'm toying with the idea of moving over to Ireland, just wanted to know if there is many positions for carpenters? Would probably look for places in Kilkenny,Galway, or Dublin.

Also what sort of wages do self employed carpenters get? (either agency or subbing)

    Many thanks

    :)

Fella, sorry to shatter any dreams you have of heading to Ireland but there are virtually no jobs in carpentry today. The construction industry is dead in the water and will remain so for the next decade.

Where are you now? It has to better than Ireland surely?

    Avoid like the plague.

Don't come here man. I'm a Dublin based carpenter and have been out of work for close to six months now. That said I'm one of the lucky ones. I got a good year and half longer in work then most.

In six months I've seen three carpentry jobs I could apply for and all had been filled before I got my name in.
