Looking to buy a Sony Vaio..

    Hi all,

Laptop gave in recently so I've been doing a lot of research on the net for a replacement!

I'm leaning towards a Sony Vaio and have narrowed it down to these:

This one from Ebay and or this from Saveonlaptops.co.uk.

These are really stretching my budget as I was trying to stick to €500. Anyone bought a Vaio recently and have any feedback for me?

These are two other alternatives I have looked at but ruled them out for no reason only I prefer the look and build quality of the Sony : a 14" Toshiba which is a bit of a wildcard here and an ASUS here

    Any help in choosing appreciated!!

    djb

Nice but I think on reflection I might keep looking for a smaller screen.
I like the size of the Macbook 13" screen for browsing internet and watching movies etc... I see Lenovo have the ideapad which looks great and a cheap alternative to Mac.

Any other manufacturers have this size? I think the standard netbook 10/11" size is just too small...
