    Hi all,

I'm looking to pick up a 42" TV for c.€450. Two I'm trying to choose between are:

Samsung PS42C450 42 Inch HD Ready Digital Plasma TV.

LG 42LD450 42 Inch Full HD 1080p Digital LCD TV.

I'm not a big gamer or anything, (occasionally play the PS3) just want a TV for the sitting-room, for regular TV viewing, Blurays, DVDs etc... and having spent the evening arsing around online, if anything I am more confused than I was before I started...!

So really, all I want is someone to say which of the above I should buy, or if neither, why not!! (I'm assuming from the specs that either of these will be OK for Saorview?)

    Thanks!

Neither are Saorview compatible to the best of my knowledge.

    Thanks Greetings,

Is this Samsung in Power City for the same price actually a different model then? The spec quoted in the link below suggests to me that it is fully Saorview compatible, but I see there are a few extra letters at the end of the product code... (I had assumed that it was actually the same model in Argos/Power City) http://www.powercity.ie/?brands=SAMSUNG&pages=1&par=10-13

Sorry barney,it must do. Just when Argos have it listed as ''Please note that the digital and Freeview features of this TV are not available in the Republic of Ireland'' and I didn't think it had

    Sony Bravia KDL40EX600 40 LED €690

Went with the Sony Bravia KDL40EX403 40" LCD for €500 from the Sony Centre in the end.... very happy with it - great TV!

Plays DivX off a USB, includes in-built Digital TV Tuner (not much use yet in Ireland) and is full HD (1080p)...

PS42C450 was in Argos and also on DID.ie
    TX-P42C2L was on DID.ie

Panasonic have the better reputation for Plasmas, but I ended up going for a Sony Bravia KDL40EX403, which is a 40" LCD and Full HD (1080p) and am loving it.
