    Hi,

I am travelling to Colombia in Feb. for a few weeks and then on to Peru by road. Does anyone know the visa requirements for Colombia i.e. will they require proof of an ongoing flight within a certain date?

    Thanks.

I entered Colombia twice, both times at overland borders. I wasn't asked for onward flights/tickets etc. When I entered from Venezuela I was asked how long I was going there for.

Then the guy saw 'Ireland' on my passport, and asked if I was from Northern Ireland or Southern Ireland. I guess this was because of the Colombia 3. I told him I was going overland to Ecuador, no probs.

Second time I came through Ecuador back to Colombia, the guy asked how long I going to Colombia for, no probs.

Entering a country at airports sometimes presents problems. I can't find info that onward flight is required on entry. I didn't meet anyone that had a problem entering the country.

    Good luck, enjoy.

I don’t know if there are any new requirements, but I flew to Cartagena from Lima (via Panama) in April 2009. There was no requirement for a visa at that time. Nobody said anything on arrival. My flight home to Ireland was booked from Venezuela a few weeks later, but I didn’t exactly have that ready to show them, though I could have fished it out if there was any trouble I suppose. Enjoy!
