Not sure if this has already been asked but...
Thinking of moving to somewhere on the green luas line but I work in the IFSC (beside new samuel beckett bridge).
Do people think that is too far of a walk ( I am more thinking for the winter time) or is there a bus that would get me to ifsc on rainy mornings?

    Thanks

Why not move somewhere with Bus Route to IFSC, why are you limiting your self to Luas, there are many buses from that locality dropping off at the quays . Your forcing luas and bus connection...

I know a lot of people who use the Dublin Bikes from Stephen's Green to the IFSC. If your not willing to do that though your in a bit of pickle because realistically with crossing roads and traversing pedestrian traffic its going to take you at least half an hour to walk. You also will probably be paying a bit more for somewhere on the Luas line even though its not going to be that much use to you!

Twenty to twenty five minutes. Biking it with Dublin bikes is the only other real option.

why not move to Irishtown and walk to work (or the apartments around the corner from samuel beckett bridge ... fall out of bed and into work)

commuting is for those people who had to get on the property ladder during the boom ... now that there is no ladder... why commute? *

if you are moving place move closer to work so that you don't have to use public transport (or any transport) to get there.

    *= assuming you don't own a place

I currently live in dun laoghaire on the dart line which is very handy though still gotta walk from pearse street station to IFSC.
I am not limiting myself to moving to somewhere on the luas line, it is just an option I am looking at as there does not appear to be much availabilty in my price range that is close to the dart line. My current apartment is very small and ground floor with no outside area. I feel I could get bigger living space for the same price I am currently paying, but I have to weigh that up against the whole distance from Stephen's greent to IFSC and if its worth it in the rain/snow

EDIT: don't really like the idea of living in town close to work, not sure why just not for me I grew up in the 'burbs so prefer living outside the city.

I dont have a problem with commuting, love the dart very reliable, and dont mind walking either just may not like it so much when I arrive to my office like a drowned rat

I don't think it's too far to walk, but the 128 bus will take you from the Green as far as Connolly station.

there's also a DublinBikes station right beside the Charlemont Luas stop, about 10 mins cycle to the IFSC from there.
