Hi, I am getting married in Spain in the May and on looking into the documents I think I'm right in thinking that when getting married abroad you need to register your wedding

Firstly in Ireland with the Department of Foreign Affairs using the Certificats de Coutume form from:http://www.dfa.ie/home/index.aspx?id=274

    Secondly you need
Baptism Cert - dated within 6 months of wedding
Confirmation Cert - dated within 6 months of wedding
Birth Cert - dated within 6 months of wedding (long form)
    Pre Marriage Course Cert
    Letters of release

All this is given to your local priest and he sends it to the Bishop/Priest in diocese where your getting married.

As part of the pastoral care of the Church for you as an engaged person you will complete a Prenuptial Enquiry Form with your local priest

I hope this help's If I missing anything please let me know.

With regard to the documents for the Dept of Foreign Affairs, are the only forms you sent in
    1 - Certificats de Coutume
2 - Your long birth Cert

Did you just post them in or did you make contact. How long did it take, also I think you can only send in you documents 120 in advance of your wedding? Any info would be great as I'll be doing this in the next few weeks.

    Thanks
    Daragh
