@lawrencedonegan: Very cool news to report: EA Sports and Augusta National have teamed to include the course in the next edition of Tiger Woods' video game."

Yeah I read that. To be fair, having Augusta as a playable course in a computer game is not new. You could download and play Augusta in Links 2003 PC - was a tough game and a tough course on that game and format.

Won't be much fun in Tiger Woods 2012 what with the 390 yard drives you can hit and the 155 yard PW shots etc. Having said all that - will definitely buy it! The measurements of the course, break of the greens etc. will all be 100% accurate.

Last year was the 2nd time I never bought a TW game in 10 years. Most definitely getting '12 for my PS3 though :D

They had the Ryder Cup last year, albeit with the likes of Vijay Singh playing for America.

links 2003 was the last great golf game. I played an online tour for a couple of years with it aswell.
The EA Titles are a joke allowing you to apply spin after you have hit the shot.

Wow! Looks fantastic in that flyover video. Apparently Royal Melbourne is another course featured on TW12 so it will be well worth the purchase even just to see them two courses. Could do with featuring a few more of the classic Irish/Scottish links and dropping the likes of Cog Hill etc.

Links is still alive and kicking, the original code for the 2003 version has been updated and with new textures and HD resolutions it holds its own with TW for the pc, consoles are different matter.

The 2011 mod version with many new features is not too far from release and Augusta is there with over 2000 other courses. There are even 8 or so Irish courses.

I played TW11 for 2 weeks and had to trade it in. I hated everything about it. The whole control system, auto focus. A grid on the green during your 2nd shot. Tapping a button for spin after the shot. The graphics. The camera angles. The crowd. The arc in online mode. The add loft feature.

It was like rocket science trying to take a shot. Tiger Woods Online was so much better. I just hope TW12 is a huge improvement with the whole Augusta thing coming in. Have a bad feeling about it all, though.
