Ring a local motor factors or Advance Pitstop or similar and see what they want for one :) Local factors may knock a bit off for you :)

In fairness I think Halfords have pretty decent batteries and you do want a good battery in cold weather. Any Halfords battery I have got has been spot on.

thanks for the replies, i have a bosch battery from halfords in my M5 so no problems with quality. tbh, i'm not bothered by saving 5 or 10eu but if the halfords one is double priced then ill go somewhere else. dont know of any local motor factor around here so would have to get the yellow pages out.

i did ring the local advance style place who didnt know what type of battery to put in it but said somewhere from 70 - 90 depending...

so, would you reckon i'm not being fleeced at around the €80 mark?

Depending on the battery, that seems in and around the price. And for the hassle of going elsewhere, you might only save a tenner, so it's probably worth your while getting one in Halfords

Local motor factors should do one for 50-60 and you fit it yourself. Maybe batteries are dearer on the east coast.
