Focus ST quick clear windscreen - only one side works?

Having been using the quick clear windscreen in recent weeks in my 07 Focus ST and with the frost on the screen I've noticed that only the passenger side of the windscreen gets cleared, the drivers side does not clear at all.

The windscreen clears absolutely perfectly in half, as in you have a perfectly straight line down the middle where the passenger side has cleared and the drivers side has not.

I have had the wipers off and the black cover that sits under them too when fitting the Eibach pro suspension kit.

So I was wondering if I may have broken a connection in around there while doing that? Or could it be a fuse? Or is there something else I can check?

quick google revealed this - http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=211099

So the connectors become corroded and or broken anyway and a new windscreen is required to fix it!

    Thats interesting!

My GF has a Focus II too and I must say the heated windscreen is brilliant. At least I know what to do if it goes wrong :)

Can you not get the windscreen replaced on your insurance?

Had a look at a wiring diagram this morning. It is individually fused. In the battery junction box(fuses under bonnet) look for fuse 14 and pull it out and test it. Its a 40 amp green square type fuse. Thats probably your problem, its a simple enough circuit.

So fuse 14 is for the drivers side of the screen? Do you know which one is for the passenger side?

Fuse 16. They are 3 green 40 amp fuses beside each other and I think the drivers side is the middle one. Its on the diagram at the back of the cover for the junction box.
