Audi servicing from Main dealers

    Hi,
    is there any advantage to getting your 2006 A4 1.8t serviced by a main audi dealer versus an independent specialist. My car seems to have never been serviced by an audi specialist since warranty is up and it is due its first service. I have heard that the main dealers do software updates during service. But is that a good enough reason to pay the big bucks rather than go to a small independent with a diagnostic computer?

    Any thoughts

    Price aside, i'd be worried about the quality of service provided by most main dealers. I'd find a good local specialist instead.

    In warranty, yes, but outside warranty, In my opinion, no. I have a 04 A3, and my wife a 05 A3 and have been ripped off my my main dealer for to long, so brought it to an independent guy before xmas.
    All the same parts minus the audi badge = a lot cheaper. Obviously it's best to have someone recommend an independent, as opposed to going to the first one you see in the phone book.
