Are there any board gamers in the Loughrea/Galway area?
I'd be interested to join a group or even found one. Types of games would be your typical FFG games (AH, Runebound, Descent etc. but also Eurogames and Ameritrash).

I don't play board games myself but I know people who might. I'll ask around.

Well, it turns out that I'm no help, nobody I know really gets together (a couple of the main players in my circle have moved away too). You could try asking in Modelworld in the Liosban Industrial Estate, they'd probably know somebody.

Kallisto, your question is well timed. I am just in the process of looking into setting up a board game club in Galway. I used to run one in Carraroe, a small town 30 miles outside the city, but then the cafe that used to host the games closed and we were left homeless, and it kind of fizzled out after that. which is a shame cos it rocked, and was a great way to introduce new people to board games as well as a great way for board game fans to meet like minded people. We never really had a huge amount of people, but i'd expect a lot more in Galway with the bigger population. I am starting to look into venue but first i'd like to find out if something similar already exists so i dont go re-inventing the wheel.
so 2 things from my post: does anyone know of a board game club or regular meeting that happens in Galway? and if not, I'll be setting one up (probably) so i'll PM you if that comes about Kallisto
