This was my favourite when I was a child.

The manufacturer was named Ulney or Olney. I read an article recently that said a book was coming out - a sort of history of the company.

The article also mentioned a blog about the book - can't find anything about it online. Anyone else know about it? Thanks

EDIT - sorted! It was URNEY. Mods can close this thread.

my parents always went shopping on Thursday night's and left the brother and myself at home. When they came home they always had a bar for the both of us.

If memory serves me right...... probably the best tasting chocolate, caramel and fondu bar in the world.

    http://www.urneychocolates.com/urney.htm
From 1924 Urney Chocolates was the leading Irish owned confectionery company, with a very large plant on the Belgard Road in Tallaght, Dublin. The business was founded by the Gallagher family who originated from County Tyrone (from an area on the Tyrone / Donegal border called Urney). At its peak Urney was one of the pioneers of boxed chocolate assortments as well as manufacturing a wide range of chocolate bars and giving employment to 600 persons by the early 1960's.

Drawing on this heritage, L.C. Confectionery is currently putting in place a new Urney Chocolates range based on the finest quality chocolate recipes. Again as with Cleeves, there is a fascinating history to the Urney brand and currently we are completing our research into that history. We will then incorporate aspects of that history into our new Urney product range which we hope to introduce through 2009.

Looks like a rebirth of sorts might be\was on the cards.

I remember being very pleased with myself going to the local shop and asking how much was a two and two and shopkeeper rolling his eyes and replying 4p :)
