    Hi lads,

    I had unprotected sex over the christmas period and I am almost 100% certain I have contracted herpes as a result. I realise some people will say that a forum is not the place to discuss such a matter but is not something I can discuss with friends due to the stigma attached to it. So any help would be greatly appreciated. I am worried about how this will affect me in the future.

    How long should I wait before engaging in sexual activity again? Such as kissing etc etc?

    Should I let future partners know asap or is it something i can disguise from them?

    What is the Likelihood of me infecting any future partners by having unprotected sex with them? Does this likelihood diminish over time?

    Is there a relevant expert in Ireland who I can speak to about the disease?

    If anyone doesnt want to post up on the thread you can PM me. I really appreciate any help lads, Its all i Can think about over the last few days..
