    wondering what would be the best kit to get to start off learning to play

    All depends on your budget mate!

    Theres LOTS of second hand kits out there.

    Check out www.adverts.ie and also www.drummingireland.com

    For new cheap kits, check out www.naasdrumcentre.com - John at ndc will even ship to you aswell.

    The other alternative is electronic kits to learn on, if your living environment isn't suited to an acoustic kit.
