what do i need to do to obtain a air rifle .

    hi all .
    as above what do i need to do to obtain a air rifle .
    i would like to join a target club .if i was to join a club would the club . or do the club rent out air rifles .
    any help would be great .

    Research..reserch ect ect
    Talk to some one with air rifle,
    Visit dealer, Have a chat.
    Select gun make ,model ,caliber, quality ect
    (get serial number off selected gun)
    Visit local garda station,
    Fill out application form,
    Wait,
    Get licence (all going well)
    Pay for licence (80e for 3 years)
    Return to dealer and pay for gun,
    be safe & have fun.

    Hidden expences - plenty, such as scope, mounts, bipods, membership fees, ammo upgrades ect. ect. but thats part of the fun...

    Where in the country are you based roughly?

    If you're anywhere near Wilkinstown in Meath that's a great place to start air rifle shooting.

    Or, if you're a current or former student of TCD or UCD, their respective rifle clubs are open to you and are an easy, and cheap, way of getting into the sport.
