Cydia Error: Database

Cydia was working fine for me the past day until just a while ago. When I click into the app I get:

    "Error: Database
    Problem parsing dependency Pre-Depends"

All my repos are gone, packages gone everything. Can't search for anything as nothing shows up.

I've google this and its a common enough problem....which can be sorted by doing this "ssh" thing. Thing is I don't have "ifile" installed from cydia so I've no idea how to go about resolving this issue.

Some said that it could be a problem with cydia itself and that it might to ok in a few hours etc.

But if it hasn't fixed itself tomorrow(which Im sure it won't), then can some experts here be so kind as to guide me yet again down the road to recovery?

Try reinstalling cydia from the linera1n app

will i lose all my cyida tweaks/apps if I do that?

I've aptbackup installed so maybe I should backup first then do as you said?

I just remembered that the first time I started getting error messages yesterday was when I got the

    "Warning: Database
    Wrong language code en-GB"

I looked this up in google and some fella said that he got same message and the went and changed the language setting from British English to English and that fixed the problem for him.

When I changed mind from British English to English and went back to cydia I got the "Problem parsing dependency pre-depends" error. If I change language back to British English I the the "wrong language code en-GB" instead.

I'm thinking at this stage I might as well restore and rejailbreak to the current 4.1 firmware? But if I do so, what can I do that will prevent this from happening again?

The only repos I manually installed were hackulo, sinful, and bityourapple.

Someone said that I should backup to tinyumbrella before I rejailbreak?

What do ya mean backup to tinyumbrella
Restore and jailbreak but install openssh and ifile first

just read on some forum that you should backup to tinyumbrella...made no sense to me as long as the ssh blobs were saved.

Ok, i'll restore and rejailbreak. I've aptbackup installed thank god so will use that to restore all my cydia stuff after I jailbreak.

So when I get cydia back, I just install "ifile" and "openssh"?

I already have SSH tab in my sbsettings? is that the same?

For some reason its back working again! Just did a final reboot before I restored and it did some update to itself and its fine again. All repos etc there.

So I'm going to download ifile and openssh straight away!

Ya prob have openssh if it's showing under sbsettings
Ya can use ifunbox or winscp to browse the filesystem on the iPhone

Well hopefully I won't have to now that everything is back working in cydia. That ssh thing sounds very complicated

It's not really. It works the same way ifile does but ya can copy stuff to the iPhone from your pc aswell

So you dont have openSSH installed? its not really clear from the OP.

If you do you can just download the Cydia app and place it in the Cydia/AutoInstall folder and reboot. It'll install a fresh copy of Cydia.

I have both openssh and ifile installed now just in case this happens again. Don't know what the problem was but it came back itself after a day.

Thank god as I did'nt want to have to get into either restoring again or that ssh business.
