    Hi
I've just bought a Panasonic V20L and think its a fantastic set. Currently I dont have a sat dish but I was assured that the TV is Freesat ready by the shop. However I'm beginning to think otherwise as during set up there was no option for choosing the UK as the country setting. I would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on whether this TV has the full range of Freesat services as the V20B.
    Thanks in advance

if its the V20L, then you wont get Freesat - you will get Free To Air satellite. The difference is that Freesat will keep all the channels organised, eg BBC One ch 101 etc. With the Free To Air in the V20L you have to organise the channels manually. The V20B wasnt reduced in price like the V20L. You have the buy the V20B in UK

hi greetings I'm living in Donegal.
Thanks big moe, I,m disappointed that I can't get freesat. Will I be able to get either the BBC or ITV HD channels? THis was one of the main reasons for purchasing this set. I didnt want to get a STB. Now I know why the TV was reduced! Should have gone with the G20B as 50" V20B very scarce.

the V20 is a better set that the G20. Yes you can get all the channels that are available on Freesat. The only thing the non-Freesat TV won't do is organise the channels. Freesat is really only an EPG service, Free To Air will still have all the same channels, with Now & Next EPG (Freesat has 7 day EPG) and you'll have to arrange the channels yourself (Freesat puts BBC One at 101 etc).

This is one of the only TVs in Ireland that has the built in sat tuner. The reason it was reduced is because they weren't selling. This was because the VT20 (3D version of the same TV) was only a few hundred more so most people bought that. In the UK for whatever reason the V20B was selling so they didnt need to reduce it.

thanks for that big moe. I'm relieved to hear that the HD channels are available on the free to air as I was led to believe that you had to input a uk postcode to receive BBC HD and ITV HD. If the only difference is the manual postioning of the channels then I can live with it. I dont plan to hook the Tv up to an ariel or dish as yet.

I've been checking out various TVs over the last year and eventually decided on one of 3 or 4 plasmas. I'm glad I didnt go for any of last years Pannies as they were allegedly affected by rising black levels. However, nearly all expert and user reviews have given the V20 a high rating. So far I've been blown away by Blueray playback on this TV - it is fantastic. The internet content is ok but would benefit from more widgets. Well worth the €1300 I paid for it.

big_moe do you have the tv connected to freesat? What's it like?

babybuilder did you get the tv plying divx?

hows the picture ithe the divx as I watch a lot of divx tv series or would I be better off buying something cheaper if I do not watch many hd stuff through the bluray?

    hi
This tv is fantastic and have it hooked upto a panasonic BT200 BD 2.1 surround sound system. I purchased a Sandisk 8GB ultra flash stick but the tv won't recognise it eventho I've followed all the divx set up directions. However i managed to get the stick to work thru the blueray players USB port and I can watch movies on the big screen. Most of the movie files are around 700MB size and they look ok. Obviously not DVD quality.
