hi all, i'm looking for software to burn avi files i have to dvd for my son to watch on his portable dvd player. Free is always best but i don't mind spending a few quid !

apparently will work - but vlc will convert it to any format and then burn that. Make sure the dvd player can play the format you burn.

You could you use handbrake to convert file to MP4, then use iDVD to make DVD of the MP4
