was standing at the bus stop outside liffey valley since 7:30pm until 9pm waiting for a 76... nothing showed.

i saw 3 in total go the opposite direction to ballyfermot.

ended up in a taxi and 8.60 out of pocket.

on the way home i saw a 78A parked on the side of the road with hazards and a fair few people on it.

is there something going on ?

no joy on rte or dublin bus website.

    all info appreciated !

Obviously a break down or some sort of incident requiring the bus to pull over.

today ran a normal weekday service..... i got a 210 this morning and that dosn't run on a saturday or sunday.

and even still a 76 runs on a sunday without having to wait over an hour and 30 mins !

I wouldn't say anything unusual apart from the standard incompetence is going on there tbh.

I have heard of past instances where there would have been, for example an 'incident' on Neilstown Road, requiring buses on the 76/76A/76B to bypass the area by travelling along Cloverhill Road and Station Road.

I know that wouldn't have done you any good yesterday, but I think the only thing you can do is email or call Dublin Bus to enquire.

Did you specifically want a 76? If you look at the timetable, there are none scheduled to leave Ballyfermot between 1840 and 2330.

Also, there are no 76B departures after 1910, so it's possible you may have just missed that one.

Checking the 76A, there are a couple of possibles. The 1905 from Blanchardstown may have have made good time due to very light traffic yesterday, so again you possibly missed that one.

However there is a 76A departure at 2030, so this should be the one you need to focus on if you decide to contact DB to enquire as to whether it ran. Maybe you were extremely unlucky due to a breakdown, or other issue?

I never knew the 76 served Liffey valley?

I knew this was on the cards when the route changes as per network direct but not currently? Whereabout does it stop?

Coldcut Road, just outside the Shopping Centre.

The future plan is to bring the 76 further into the centre at the current 78, 78A, 210 and 239 terminus stop.

    cheers for that one

the thing is even on a sunday i would be at the bus stop at about 7:45 and a bus would come at about 8:15 every week without fail... so even sunday was better than yesterday.

any 76 would have done fine really

ahwell i'll leave as one of those things for now so.

    cheers all

The bus did not turn up as they were running a "Normal Weekday Service" as opposed to a Normal Weekday service.

Same point this morning, things were back to normal with no long waits.

lovely... they just cancelled half of its services without telling people.

    thank you for that !

its seems from that buses weren't running to any particular timetable then.
