    Hiya,

Just been pulling my hair out trying to find places in Ireland where I can buy organic plants, fruit trees and bushes suitable for the harsh conditions of west Mayo. I'm willing to travel to any part of Ireland.

I am aware of Irish Seedsavers but I'd like a wider range of plants.

    I'd appreciate any tips/info.

    - esp'ly interested in hardy japanese/russian lime tree varieties etc

    Thanks

Hi, couple of sugestions , the organic centre, rosinver, co. leitrim . they may have what you are looking for or know of a source, also knockvickar organic garden, knockvickar, co roscommon i havent been to this one but you never know.

Its easy to raise cuttings of fruit bushes, it's difficult to find the old varieties but mabey are surviving in some old gardens in your locality , so if you can find a cultivar you like raise your own organicly, i have done this with blackcurrants gooseberries and divisions of rhubarb . future forests in cork may have the lime trees you are interested in, i hope you find what you're looking for :)

    thanks, Mountain Man,
    will check them out :)

Got frustrated earlier when I found a 10 yr old Whole Ark catalogue and realised they no longer exist :( (Arc PC was a permaculture project in Monaghan, and had unusual hardy fruit trees and bushes...wonder why they disappeared?)
