    hi folks,

    2 questions please.

my old tank fed mira elite has died an im gonna buy a new one.
If I buy a completely different make will it really make a big difference with fittings etc., or are these more or less standard throughout the shower world?

What are the advantages/disadvantages of a mains fed shower over a tank fed one?

    Thanks a lot,

    John

If your shower is upstairs your mains might not have enough pressure.

because you already have a tank fed show I would keep it that way, at least u always get a constant flow of stabilised pressure. Yes it will matter if you change manufactures. Mira has wire top left, pipe bottom left, Aqualisa top & bottom right, Heatstore/Redring top & bottom right etc.

I fitted an Aqualisa recently and I would not go back to mira.

    I agree with this.

I understand this. However if you have a family of 4 two adults and two kids especially girls the aqualisa will not keep up with the tank demand on water.

Esentially to save the sales pitch pumped electric for families and power showers for singles.couples

I see you point joey. We are a family of 4 (2 boys) but the showers in 18 mths now and we never take showers one after another, and we also have a gyser connected up for summer and ten mins of it switched on is plenty .
And boys can be as bad as girls, take it from me.

The aqualisa is in a wetroom downstairs and the mira is still in the bathroom, only 1 boy uses it and he can take nearly an hour.
