Zafira - how to remove transponder ring

    I'm having ECU problems with my wife's 01 Opel Zafira. I need to remove the Transponder ring from the steering lock/ignition switch. I've stripped off the steering column cowls and switches but cant seem to release the transponder ring from around the ignition lock Barrell. I dont want to force it....does anyone know how to release it?

    turn the key to postion 2 and in the plastic surround that the ignition barrel fits into there will be small hole (on the top) which if you insert a small screw driver or similar type object and press down the ignitionbarrel should pop out to you .. hope this helps
    sorry forget you need to remove the ignition barrel first then transponder slips off
