i'd like to open a savings account where i can put X amount in (say €2000) i then don't know when i will deposit in again so i'd like an account that allows me to deposit and withdraw whenever i wish.
can anybody advise me as to a good savings account where my money will be safe? is there a bank of ireland one? i have a bank of ireland current account...

do most people put their money into savings accounts or keep it all in their current accounts?

help much appreciated as i am totally clueless. many thanks

Sounds like you want an instant access bank account.

There is a full list of such accounts here:

If you have more than 2,000 EUR to deposit then Nationwide UK @ 3% is a good option.

Don't keep the money in your current account. You will earn near zero interest.
