No water anywhere - advice needed!

    Hi all,

Have been away since before Christmas. Got back on the weekend to find that there was no water anywhere in the house. No taps working, and just checked the attic tank and it's empty too. From talking to the neighbours they are getting water in the non-restricted times (live in Dublin). Is it possible I have an airlock somewhere?

From reading up on how to sort this it looks like you first have to have water coming in from somewhere so you can force it down the locked pipe. Any suggestions on what I might try before I have to call a professional?!

    Best regards,

    Peter.

No water at all, not even in the kitchen tap? That's (usually) fed straight from the mains rather than the tank.

Check you local council/ neighbours to see is the mains on/meant to be on

nothing! Tried it just there, got a dribble for a second. Yesterday I got about half a glass full from cold tap in kitchen, that was it!

Check with you're neighbours first as has been suggested.

Chuck some hot not boiling water over the stopcock outside and see if that does anything. Could be a leak underground before it comes into the house.
