All recorded programmes wiped from UPC box

Hi - yesterday when I turned my TV on, all my recorded programmes had vanished from my digital tv box. It was only about 60% full, so there was plenty of space. There is no error message. I rang UPC, but they couldn't help me over the phone. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!
