m24 socom fluted barrel question?

I was considering getting an m24 socom fluted barrel after i sell a few guns. I was told it came with a precision barrel in it and i thaught that is what a fluted barrel was. Can someone please tell me what a fluted barrel realy is?? Thanks

Fluted (outer) barrel looks like this:

In airsoft its gonna be just a cosmetic feature and most
likely have nothing to do with your guns performance.
(unless you have some monster gun and the fluting helps
reduce the weight of the outer barrel)

A Precision Barrel is most likely a Tightbore inner barrel
where the inside diameter of the barrel is smaller than
a bog standard one. I think they tend to be 6.03 or 6.02 mm
These with good quality BB's and good hop-up bucking are ment
to improve accuracy.
