Highest paying security companies?

I have recently lost a security post in the company I work for.So just wondering ,out of all the security firms in Ireland which are the highest paying?
I am aware that the current jlc/union approved rates are 10.01euros an hour if you are new and 10.75 an hour if you have over 3 years experience. But has anyone worked for a security company that pays more than this.I know that it is literally only going to be a handful amongst all the firms.
I got the impression that bds security pay higher than most firms, but from visiting their website it looks like they are now noonan security.Has anyone any experience of working with noonan/bds security in the last few months?
Do federal security or the likes of securitas pay high wages? Please if anyone has any info for me -reply to this thread.
I know there was a similar thread on this topic but that was about 5 years old.

To be honest, everyone will be looking to get staff for the lowest cost at the minute, mainly due to the fact that every client is squeezing every last cent out of it's contractors.

A security supervisor might be looking at €11.50 - €13ph, with a manager looking at maybe a euro or two p/h more.

Having worked on the doors for ages we were on a basic of €15ph and thought we were great, till the JLC rates became public and we found out we were on below minimum JLC rates, working 6 hours (9pm - 3am) on a Sat night. :(

If you want to work in security, maximise your earning potential by splitting your time between two companies if possible. Work nights, and work Sundays.

    What does this mean?

You'd want more than 16ph or you're earning more than 16ph?

The pay is more than 16 euro per hour ( 1.5 hourly rate for nights).

There was a job description here:

    http://www.tesco.ie/careers/search.html

a few weeks ago but its gone, think the pay was about 500e per week before time and 1/2 was added for nights.

BDS went bang about 5 years ago and they didn't pay any better then the rest at the time.

Securitas may pay a little better than others, but you'll find what they give with one hand they take back with the other

The JLC is in force since about 2006/7, are you refering to the 'happy time' before the JLC and PSA licencing when most if not all door work was an into the hand affair.

The JLC is now applied across the board in the security industry, from static to DSP

If you'rre planning on working for another security provider, one or both employers can easly find out, either through your tax or from the PSA.

Also, what would you do if you happened to be roistered for a sunday night shift on this industrial type assignment. How would you go about your work for your Monday employer. It is also not that easy to pick and choose the shifts you want to do.

You'll fine this will equal the JLC's requirement for unsocial allowance. It will also allow for the payment of the 6 overtime hours you would do each week. Which should be paid at time and an half I believe, so actualy - they are under paying thier security staff

Yes, I'm talking about 2005 into late 2006. We were not cash in hand, but were a bit naive in thinking that our employer would automatically put us on a JLC rate.

I knew there were rates somewhere:

    (iv) Unsocial Hours

An unsocial hours premium will be paid for hours worked between 21:00 hours and 07:00 hours, provided the worker works at least 3 hours in that period. This will apply as follows:

    From 1.1.2007 €15.24 per shift
    From 1.1.2008 €16.00 per shift
    From 1.1.2009 €16.80 per shift

I think its about €16.80 per hour for the full 12 hours, shift is usually 8-8. After the 18 months that increases too.

Thats right, but what a lot of employers are doing now is roistering staff for 8 hour shifts instead of the traditional 12hrs. Some would be roistered untill 23.30hrs, so the payment of the unsocial allowance doesn't apply.

    08.00 / 16.00
    16.00 / 23.30
    23.30 / 08.00

The hourly rate of the employee remains the same. The €16.80 payment is the minumim allowance that must be paid to the employee for working at least 3 hours between 21.00hrs & 07.00hrs.
