Totally ruined the bit of improvement I made over the winter by being a total pig over the xmas plus pool was closed or couldn't get to it because of the weather.
Going back to it daily but what's the best swim stroke & excercise to do to improve leg strength. Not a very strong swimmer even in my younger fitter days and ok walking would help but I'm thinking of taking advantage of the gym as well but I don't want mad muscles just loose weight, tone up.

So what's the best thing to do to improve leg strenght?

    Breaststroke and front crawl.

Mainly front crawl. Kick from the thigh not the knee. But small fast kicks with the ankle barely breaking the surface. Concentrate on your kicking by focussing and telling yourself kick, kick, kick.

    Good luck!
