Gas Boiler not enough pressure

A friend of mine asked if I could try find out about his gas boiler. He only has 0.7 bar of pressure in his gas boiler and it needs 1-2 to operate. The water pressure comming into his house is down due repairs, rationing in the town. BUT...a neighbour has just told him a plumber called to his house adjusted one simple…

A friend of mine asked if I could try find out about his gas boiler. He only has 0.7 bar of pressure in his gas boiler and it needs 1-2 to operate. The water pressure comming into his house is down due repairs, rationing in the town.

BUT...a neighbour has just told him a plumber called to his house adjusted one simple thing and his boiler is working with the same pressure. Same boiler, same water pressure entering house.

Any ideas what he did ? Now I work in a similar area and pressume that working below its recommended pressure is not recommended.

The boiler is a "Heatline S24S" natural gas boiler.

Interfering with a gas boiler when you are not RGII registered is a criminal offence.

Is what he did dangerous? Would you recommend his neighbours getting someone to correct what he did when the water pressure returns or even beforehand ?

If you are qualified and say what he did was wrong I will simply tell him not to but I would be very interested what he did now you have sparked my interest.
