beretta 391,love beretta guns but i haven't any experience with the 391, only handled them and liked the feel of them but they are regarded as 1 of the best semi autos

    Alchemist,
What's y'er game? Will your auto be in the field, on a boat, or will it just be used for trap and skeet? Will the gun ever see salt water?

The CZ 712 is a no nonsense - beat the cr@p out of and not worry about kind of gun. So to is the Remington 1100 or 1187.

If you have the funds to step up to the Italian autos: Benelli Super Black Eagle is the way I would go. Heard great things about the Beretta's as well.

Winchester SX3 is a nice gun as well. Shot it, but haven't owned it.

Check out the Franchi I-12. It's a great piece of kit, kind of the affordable Benelli.

At the lower end, work horse kind of guns are the Stoegers and Mossbergs as well.

Give us some more specifics and perhaps, we can help narrow things down. Whatever you do, I would advise sticking to a name brand.

Got myself a Beretta 391 28" S/H @€;600 in as new condition complete with box, chokes and tools. Put in for the license and just waiting now.
I was out yesterday for a couple of hours with the 22lr and was taking to a man who had the 391 with him and 2 dogs, he said it was the best SG he ever had.

After a lot of searching and review reading for a good semi-auto the 391 was top of my list. The 391 Ultra Light can be got new for €1250 timber or €1150 synthetic.

You cant really go wrong with a beretta.:) I bought my extrema 2 new over a year ago and it has'nt missed a beat. There a great all rounder gun and even nicer to shoot with the kick off system. I cant see myself ever parting with mine.
