    Great feeling isnt it?

You'll get over the nerves after a while, but the thrill of flying on your own is great. Congrats

    Nice one mate!

The only flight I was ever nervous before was my first flight after getting the license. It's a different sense of responsibility when your name is on the sign out.

Thought I would add a little story....

I was at a small flying club in the middle of France years ago ( mid 80's )

The bar was covered with champagne corks hanging from the ceiling , we asked the guy what it was all about , apparently it was traditional at that club for a pilot who completed his first solo to buy a bottle for the club room , and sign the cork.

So OP , go and celebrate .

I remember mine. I wasn't expecting to go solo as I had only clocked up 7hrs... I had gone out the night before(spur of the moment, arm bent by housemate) and thought I'll be grand what with instructor with me. Anyways, he told me after couple of circuits to turn back to apron which I did and then told me he was bored and hopped out. It was a Piper 38 and had two locks on the door, one at side and one above. The one above was a hook that twisted round into a loop. But, on this plane it often happened that the hook didn't latch onto the loop. As I was climbing the door opened an inch or two... I had rain, air and sun piling in on me such was the day... But I'll never forget it and I'm rather proud of myself that I didn't freak out, I flew the circuit and learned two things: no drinking night before any flight and fully check doors.

áth mór! The next high will be your cross countries!

I've never heard of P1, PIC yes.

Have you flown a 22? Big difference weight wise isn't there.

Well done all the same with the solo. It's a great feeling alright.

    Congrats!

Was that you and your instructor asking for a crew change on one of the taxiways yesterday afternoon around 15:00?

I started on the 22, but the company were contemplating selling them - so I switched. I'm glad I did, I'm happier flying the 44 and would of went straight for a type rating. Thanks :)

I'm familiar with PIC as opposed to P1, but I'm a product of the American system.

    Well done.

The first time I soloed, I had wood. It seemed to have an effect on me!

Well done you're now officially a pilot.

As for P1, that's correct on this side of the pond. P2 is co-pilot. So what is P2 in the US? PNIC?

Well you did brilliant. Those first few minutes sitting there on one's own awaiting clearance is nerve racking isn't it? lol.

Especially when you take the jump from a 22 to a 44. She's so much bigger. Noticed in your video she shot past 800ft but that just takes a while to get used to when there's only one person in a heli with that kind of power.

It's coming into land I found was a bit nerving, she'll keep moving forward if you come in at an average speed and you've really got to counteract the inertia with the cyclic.

Shame the vid screen was a little small but all in all good job and keep up the good work. Oh how many hours have you up at this stage and have you the theory exams out of the way?

Jaysus it is all coming back now I remember my instructer talking to the tower about getting out on the taxi way ,I had'nt a clue what was going on at first then it sunk in.
Well the next few mins taxiing to the RWY doing my power checks etc was mad then the TWR cleared me for take off, It felt weird at first not having my instructer beside me after that the traning kicked in the controllers were brill and they congradulated you once back on terra firma.
The lads I was staying with also made a video everything including me talking to the TWR.:D

My instructor was good enough to video mine in a PA28 and you can hear the ATC on the footage coming from his handheld radio. It's really really cool and I'm very glad I have it. However, if you go on to fly a "heavy" professionally there is nothing like that feeling in my opinion! Especially the first time with a full load up!
    Congratulations and safe flying.
