Hi I've had a bit of a hair disaster and would really appreciate some advice

Moved house last month so decided to try the new local hairdresser. BIG MISTAKE. I've always had blonde hair, have moved hairdressers a few times and never had any problems with them matching up the colours-although when i move i always ask for a full head of highlights with the new hairdresser and did that this time too

We talked about the hair, she showed me the colours which looked like my colours. Anyway long story short..she dyed my hair brown not blonde... i now have a head mousey brown hair with a few blonde highlights, its really a horrible brown

Ive left it nearly 2 weeks now and the brown isnt coming out. I know its only hair buts its really depressing me

I was wondering has anyone been in this situation before? Would a hairdresser dye over my now brown hair and give me a fresh set of highlights? Could i go into a hairdresser and ask for a full set of highlights again? - would this be really bad for my hair?

I went to a salon before and asked for highlights and like yourself, my hair ended up darker.
I thought maybe it was the lighting or something but after a couple of days I knew it was darker. I wasn't happy so rang the salon and let them know.
They told me to come back in and they'd do it again for free.
Give them a call and explain the situation. But do it nicely!

One other thing to do is ring your old salon and get the exact colours they used. I moved country and was so afraid of colours not matching. My old hairdresser wrote everything down for me, what colour/numbers, product brand, how much of each etc and I always bring it in to make sure a new salon has the same dye.

Thanks for your advice California :)

Really dont want to go back to the same hairdresser again...i didnt mention that she only dyed half of the length of my roots as well, i look like i have a month of roots. So two strikes against them.

But if your hairdresser was able to fix it for you, im hopeful that a new hairdresser would fix it for me :)

You're well within your rights to ask for someone else to do the fix-up.
I wouldn't pay for someone else to fix it. Call and explain that you are much darker than you had asked for and that the highlights didn't reach the roots as requested.
Ask for the manager straight away and be polite. They should offer to have it done again and just say you'd prefer someone else to do it. You can ask what day the other girl is off so you won't have to see her and avoid any embarrassment if that bothers you.
You paid for a service so you should get it correctly. It happens to people all the time so don't feel bad about calling them.
