Hi lads, was thinking of getting a 05 Trafic,Vivaro or Primastar. Just wondering from the people that know, which is the better amd what the mpg is like?
    Thanks .

I know they are the same, but not the same price and resale value. What is the fuel economy like on the 05 -06 model?

They've only started putting MPG and litres/100km figures in the latest brochures on these vans, but you should expect 30mpg in any of these vans depending on load and driving style. Opels did sell quite a few of these vans with the 80 bhp 1.9 dCi with 5 speed box which is a little slow. Spec isn't the best on some of the Opels, this gave them the edge on price. Also not that not all the Opels have ABS as standard. Most don't have the fingertip stereo controls either. Nissan (because of the badge) will probably sell better second hand for those that don't know its identical to a Trafic. The Primastars mainly sold in 100 bhp LWB versions with identical spec to the Trafic, but again a few earlier ones didn't have the ABS as standard. The Trafic has ABS as standard and most of the goodies. Make sure belts have been done and get one with a decent service history. Some earlier ones had gearbox difficulties so watch out for whining and crunching in to first and second gear (that goes for all variants including 5 speed models).

If you could stretch to an 07 model (in all variants), you'll get the newer and much improved 2.0 dCi 16v diesel with 115 bhp. Its chain driven and is much more flexible than the old 1.9 I wouldn't be put off by a higher mileage one with a good service history either!

Yep, those gearboxes are made of chocolate. Sad really because the rest of the van isn't that bad.

out of those three, i think you should get a transit.

Faced with that choice I'd go with a Transit ;)
I picked up a 07 low mileage one recently for 9.5k inc VAT, far superior to the Trafic etc. IMO
