Hey all, I'm gonna be studying in NUIG for the upcoming semester. I'm arriving 5th Jan and have no idea how to get to the Gort Na Coiribe from the airport. Obviously Id like to avoid spending all my cash on taxi. Is there like a public bus system and hopefully a rote from the airport closely to my destination?

by the way, gort is a pretty good choice, isn't it? (anyways, how do you pronounce it?)

    Which Airport?

If it's Dublin or Shannon Airport, there should be regular busses from the airport to Galway bus station. Gort is only a short taxi away from there.

Gort na Coiribe (Pronounced 'Gurt na Cor-iba ;) ) is a great place to live, especially as an american student (The place is FULL of Americans! ).
I live there and was living with 2 American Girls last semester.. Theres even a slight chance that you'll be living with me haha.

Well, I have a direct plane from Dublin to, what it says, Galway airport, and from what I've seen on the google maps, there actually is one. Well I suppose i will worry after arrival and may eventually take that cab. The thing is i will be arriving late like 8pm, and i hope the check-in spot will still be open.

Americans you say, well lucky bastards dont have any language barrier;] Since i dont know anything about the room i have reserved yet (other that it is twin), hehe, im curious about stuff. Its hard to get a reply from the info lady because of christmas/new year time.

    Thanks for the answer m8!

I realise it's probably too late and you'll have already booked your flights, but GoBus or CityLink from Dublin Airport to Galway City at 10euro would probably have been much cheaper and possibly quicker.
