Biggest fox I ever heard of was 36lbs, can't remember was it in Bucknells book or a fox shooter in Wales/Cornwall. One or the other either way.

A fox I shot had cat in him according to NUIG.

He's a big fox alright, but camera work can make him look bigger.

    Nonsense on Yahoo about it:

"The fox's capture raises fears such creatures are getting larger and bolder, as they have easy access to discarded food from suburban homes."

Just wait until they start breaking into gunshops :D

Similiar issues with Coyotes in the US - there are claims they are getting bigger(and bolder) since they started filling niches vacated by the removal of wolves. Wovles are now making a comeback with protection in parts of the midwest and have now put manners again on the Coyotes with stock losses from this source falling:) - Simliar trends have been observed in Kenya as regards the Massive decling in Lion numbers in recent years which has led to more problems with stock losses to hyenas, jackals etc:(

That's quite cruel to be honest. No need to kill it. A waste of some good genetics there.

What exatly should have been done with it?, perhaps give it to the family who's cat it is alleged to have ate as their new pet?
The only other possibility was to release it back into the wild as to hold it in captivity is certainly cruel, now considering it is classed as vermin killing it was the only option.

On the vid. they measures the fox and it came to 1 meter and 20 cm, below in the pic is one I shot a couple of weeks back. the rifle with mod on is 1 meter and 19cm ans after straighting him out he was a few cm longer that the rifle . he was a young fox with a full set of clean unworn teeth ans parts of a hare in his belly.

The "normal sized" fox they measured him against was a little runt of a thing.

I think the problem is that they're not used to using the metric system over the water yet. :D
He looked like a stocky fella to me but not overall a giant in mass terms to what i've seen here.
