Have tried giving up before, even tried GA. Not my thing. Its got out of control and i really want to stop. Any advice appreciated. :)

I was gonna say that :(

But seriously op if you wanna give up gambling, its like anything else ... stay away from temptation. And not just the obvious casinos or better shops. Stay away from such websites or even amusement arcades.

Make fake bets with yourself, put the money you bet into a jar, keep note if your bets win or lose, keep filling the jar.

Gambling is fun but think of all the other fun things you could be doing with the money, like coke and hookers. Seriously.

In all seriousness, I've been gambling for around twenty years and max bets also started to get around the €1000 mark (but only if they were from winnings).

I had my biggest win this year when I had €500 on Ransom Note @ 10/1 and lost it all when put most of those winnings on a horse that came second, a horse that could of and should have won easy, heart breaking.

My advice would be don't give up, but just bet smaller and learn to not bet money you can't afford to lose. Giving up totally will just be too hard and when you break, you will bet big.

Kinda like dieting, saying you'll never eat Sugar or Fried foods ever again only works for so long 'till you find yourself order half the food from a chippers and crying eating the some Ben and Jerry's to wash it down.

So my advice would be to work on your discipling rather than abstinence.

Keep a betting diary also if you choose to continue, you can use a Challenge Log here as many do to track their bets, as that will bring home the reality of what you win or what you lose.

    Good luck, either way.

Yeah was thinking a log might be a good idea, but doing so much different types of gambling.

To explain, im betting on horses, playing poker , and blackjack etc in casino.

Appreciate the advice though, makes more sense when compared to dieting. :)

Well stay away from the house games(blackjack, roullete etc),you ll never be up the long run.
If you are playing poker read as much theroy on it as you can, watch videos. You should take pride in making a good fold, calling big bets with AA knowing your beat just cos you have AA or whatever.
Dont chase loses, trying to win it all back rarely ever works.
I dont bet on horses so I cant give you any advise, but at the end of the day if you are not having fun,its not worth doing.
You can set limits on your account so you might want to set that up.

Same OP, Loved hitting the casino when drunk, also bet on all sports like soccer, american football even ice hockey and the stock market, I was winning hundreds then I had a cold spell where i lost nearly a grand in a week and I just gave it up, never put anymore money in my PP online account and quit hitting casinos, still play poker online though but it's only for 2 dollars sit and go.
