Damp problem

Ive noticed only recently in the morning the car stinks of mould, stagnant water etc..

i checked all doors and windows tonight and all seals seems to be ok, cant figure out how its getting so damp.

i left the car with the air con up to max for about 1 hour on full heat to see if it will dry it out a bit, just checked there to see it hasn't really done anything.

any help or info would be appreciated!!

when the air con cools off, it creates condensation, which in turn creates bacteria in the a/c system which will give you the damp smell when you run it the next time.

most garages sell a cleaning agent to cure this

are they very wet? again, the obvious, wet people getting in and out? window slightly open (particularly a rear one), do you have a sunroof?

get a moisture mate, or (sounds nuts) leave a bowl of rice in the car at night time for a week or two changing the rice every few days (its supposed to be great at absorbing mositure in the air). and get a bottle of a/c disinfectant and see where that takes you.

some cars are just hopeless at waterproofing though, my last car an MG ZR was always letting in water somewhere or another. it might be worth you having a google search for polo water leaks to see if they have any common faults...
