I don't really like the focus, too boring. I'd like something a bit different. What do ye think of those Citroën c4s (3 door). Online reviews are a mixed bag, some say they're good, others say its very troublesome. I like the look of them but don't want to buy problems.
Is there any cars ye would recommend for that price range, I could probably stretch to €10k for a good deal.

3 door / 5 door
Petrol / Diesel
Sports car / Comfortable cruiser

Are you doing big miles?

Some cars are higher maintenance than other.

I keep away from French cars as there electrics give a lot of bother.

Id prefer a 3 door, especially if I was looking at the Citroën as the two models look very different but it's not essential.

Not worried about petrol/diesel too much.

I'd probably edge towards the sports car but something that could handle a long trip

3door astra the new last models were lovely 06 kinda models, very nice and sporty in 3door, can do long trips have 2 friends with them for 2 years now not a bother

sorry haha but seriously look at them id get a 3door myself tho im kinda looking at a vectra atm, want a big car because im a small man haha. and it should well be within budget if you shop around just make sure you dont get one thats been driven to death

C30 is a lovely looking car - that seems like a great price for that one. Also they are fairly rare in Ireland which adds to the appeal.

I've only ever driven the older model, a 2002 model and it handled well but I dont really like the look of the new ones. I might consider a sporty looking one but I dont like the normal, bland, boring looking ones like this:

Some of the higher speced focuses are nice in my opinion. I know your only 21 but try to avoid very underpowered cars. The 1.4 80bhp in the golf being an example. For me anyway it always niggled me when I had underpowered cars. There's no substitute for being able to properly drive a car.

I wouldnt like the black plastic trim around the wheel arches.... reminds me of those rover streetwise

maybe its just the newer ones are colour coded

Only thing worse than driving something underpowered is owning something underpowered. Not to mention safety for overtaking.

i drove a c30 in Sweden, it was a 1.8 bio fuel one. my gripe was running it on the bio fuel was very sluggish, there was just no poke there. the car hire place said you'd notice a big difference in performance with petrol in it, I cant confirm that though.

also the boot on them is tiny, it barely fitted 2 bags in it.
