Hi , I saw a thread about this but cant find it !
I have a 05 VW Passat dsl, and the blow fan is gone since before Xmas.
I have not had the money to get it fixed but need it done ! With the freezing weather you can imagine how cold the inside of the car was ?
I think I saw in the previous thread that Trim Tyre centre on Dublin rd was recommended ???
I really need them to be reasonable, I have tried Kavanaghs but found the manner very abrupt !!
    Any help is appreciated.

Is the fan not blowing or is it not heating? Difference is between an electrical problem and a plumbing problem - so you know what to expect.

Thanx, the fan is not blowing but it is heating the more you drive!
    Does this mean anything ??

If the fan's not blowing, its electrical. Have you checked the fuses? You might need an auto electrician rather than a plain old mechanic.

Ha Ha Bigus !!Yeah ,I have checked the fuses, I heard it could be a switch for the fan that is gone.

Try Pauric Rickard in Robinstown, 046-9023247.

I have used the tyre centre for tyres alright, he seems a decent enough chap. Not sure about car maintenance with them.

I've done this job on a Passat.. and An A6.. seems to be common fault that the "climatronic" fan fails.... I guess the controller is inside it?

Anyway.. take the golve box out with a few screws and you can swap the whole unit... a bit fiddly coz of the angles, but not hard.
