I've been trying out the new update to skype and have to say its fantastic. Quality is really good even from 3G to 3G.

What I would like to find out is, is it using more data to receive a video call on skype using 3G than it is to make a video call, or are they the same?

Only have 100mb per day mobile internet, which is fine when I'm not at home using the wifi, but if I make a few calls using 3G I'd say this 100mb would be used up very quickly.

Nah, 100mb is a lot, and unless you are on it for more than a few hours a day, I reckon you are grand. Thanks for the heads up though, didn't notice the update. :)

What network are you using, skype doesn't work at all for me over 3G?

Wow, I'm Vodafone also, and the connection drops after a few seconds ever single time, I know lots of people with the same problem. It works perfectly on WiFi, but never 3G.

Do you know what APN you are using? Prepaid or Postpaid? Do you have a VoIP add on?

I'm on prepaid, don't have a clue how to find out what APN im on? If you tell me how to I'll find out.

I have no Voip add ons(that im aware of)

As you've guessed I'm not very techy when it comes to this stuff

I'm on postpaid, I wonder does that make a difference.

The default APN is live.vodafone.com, so you probably have that, it's actually quite difficult to change.

Well, I'm meant to be technical, I've worked for both Apple and Vodafone and I can't make it work, so you may be more techy than you think.

    Thanks for your help.
