I have found a potential supplier in the UK who sell a product I want to sell over here, at wholesale and retail price. They have a website that sells this product to Ireland too. Do you think they would sell me wholesale as I cold be considered competition?

Has this ever happened to anybody else?

Well more then likely not, if you go on there website and see if they have something like a trade login but if they did sell to the trade they more then likely state it somewhere on there website. But I guess a phone call won't hurt.

Depending on what it is and how hard it is to source I'd say try find it else where first!!

No harm in asking, are they the original makers of the product - i.e. are they making the product themselves or buying off another wholesaler.
It really depends what the product is, and if you want to sell the exact same product, or rebrand it as your own.

Id say there's an opportunity there for you to pick up an agency. Do your home work...what are their sales like is ireland...do they market the product...are they successful?

You could offer to look after their sales in ireland...they still get the business and dont have the worry of managing it.

Worth a call. These days, all companies are looking for new channels

For anybody who wants to know. The supplier has passed me on to an Irish company with the same products and the prices are quite attractive. Looks like I will be launching this hopefully this year.
