Family in Canada involve deeply in rescue work...as former champion whippet breeders these tend to come their way.

A year or so ago, they took in a very abused young male whippet, who settled well and happily; they also have chihuahuas now.

A few weeks ago, they took in two whippet pups, female in dire need.. barely 8 weeks and too young to safely leave their mother.

Boy whippet has adopted the wee ones.. And when we phone, we hear him "talking" as he plays with them; they have such a wide vocal rage that is is an operatic aria, and we can hardly speak for laughing. On he sings, and the wee ones yap.... So he is "mother" to these needy wee ones.
