Hey i was just wondering would the batterys off ebay be any good? Like i have a dell inspiron and looked at dell's site for a replacement and it was like €140 (dont know if shipping was incluided) where as on ebay you can get them for €40 average price from the uk without shipping. i seen one for as low as €25 with free shipping from hong kong. I know my self they are not as good as the dell ones but has anybody bought 1 about a year ago and could tell me the performance of them. Like do they hold charge long or maybe they did for first 2 months then just died. Thanx!

My Advice - Don't touch them.

Dell's BIOS recognises non-OEM batteries and with that disables the charging feature of the battery. I got hit recently as a result of my Inspiron 9400 refusing to charge it.

Best advice is to buy official. Sad but true.

Oh ok thanx! Yea the only problem is they are 3 times if not more the price! But i suppose u have the piece of mind that they will charge properly and should last for longer than them cheaper ones!

I'm pretty sure the battery on amazon is the same as the one on ebAy official is only way

As for laptop battery in general

If you use your laptop pluged In a lot remove the battery as this will damage it. Battery is for mobile use not plugged in use.

Yea u are right about the sellers on amazon. as they are the exact same companys that are on ebay. There is so much generic crap and copied items sold on both sites but there is more genuine stuff sold on amazon. Like i would never buy a replacement sky remote control off ebay again as i bought 1 b4 and after a few months stopped working opened it up and all that was in it was 1 small chip compared to the inside of official remote which looked like it was powering a space craft compared to it. With so much components and chips.

Hey i was just wondering would the batterys off ebay be any good?

I have bought two different batteries, both for Dell Inspirons, off ebay, direct from Hong Kong. Both worked fine.

Did they hold their charge long?? and how long was their lifespan??

The fact that u had to buy 2 says it all. Although i could be wrong, maybe u travel alot and need 2 batterys or u bought 1 for 1 system and another for another.

<edit>just re-read ur post. Batterys were for 2 different systems</edit>

I've bought a couple off ebay for different laptops and they worked fine. I still had one on my last laptop after a few months and it was still fine.

Although I did buy a laptop charger and it went on fire the second day I used it.

Know your sellers, I use one in the UK black-cat2 for genuine Dell batteries and can't fault the guy.

Just bought an Acer Aspire 5551 and the battery is a ****ty 2.5 hours. Just want to see if anyone knows a battery for it that would improve the battery life? Something in the region of 4-5 hours would do.

Oh and a link to where to buy them would be savage if you know of it!
