how ye, i've seriously been considering joining the guards sometime when i leave school, but over the christmas its been makin me think.
like should i join straight away or do some other course in college or go workin for a few years before joining?

then if i did join and get in, where would i be stationed, and what is like workin away from home and is it possible to get stationed closer to home after a period of time and what is the likely hood if this happening? also are gardai sometimes moved without asking?

what do people treat you like outside of work when they know your a guard? like around the community you work in? are you able to do anything illegal(not serious butt you no) or are you stuck with title of 'a gard'

oh and does anybody know how they work over christmas holidays like who works? and is it possible to ask for a day off with, lets say a weeks notice or can one of your colleagues cover for you or vuce versa?

Whoa thats a lot, sorry, and ah thanks in advance if i get any replies:)

Regrettably, your post cannot be entertained in this forum as long as you approach the notion of joining An Garda Síochána with this attitude.

The large majority of people who frequent this forum would be very unhappy to see someone who is considering joining the force ask a question like this, and your questions would either not be taken seriously or not answered at all as a result.

For your sake and the sake of the forum, this thread is now closed.
