So, what's the predictions folks? '09 were pretty damn rare at the start, '10 less so but still pretty rare. Will we see many '11 plates on the roads!

Anyone on here thinking of forking out for a brand new car!?

ah, thats not so bad, i thought you were suggesting you bought it new in 07 and had finance until 2014, i thought you were a bit nuts.

cant go wrong with a golf for a bit of comfy motoring :D

I hope those stupid gombeens in garages auto factors etc start using the number 1 for 1 on the plate instead making it look like two II's(eyes) it really bugs me..

I'm thinking it will be lower than 2010 but there may be a slight push up to June where people are going for the last of the scrapage. A new car is the 2nd hardest thing to offload after your house if your emigrating.

Why is it some plate to have?

Cant wait to see one badly parked in a car park, pulling out in front of me at 10kp/h or refusing to go through a gap in traffic that a bus could fit through.

Agreed. Fugly car with a poncy number plate asking for people to spit on your car.

Always find "cherished" plates in ireland a bit naff and not worth the effort of getting it.

    Porche 911 with 06-D-911
    M3 with 03-D-1773

Its just a bit sad IMHO

They are keeping the first 20 numbers this year as IID1 / 2/3 etc may still be in existence. Tried to get 11D5, had to go with 11D100

I think that instead of the usual new year reg pics, maybe we should find the now-elusive new year petrol car!

Ah yea sad but at least the above are decent enough cars. What about the BMW with XX-X-1 318. Now that's sad with a capital s!!

Found although I didn't get a picture. I saw an E Class with a 2011 plate leaving for a "road test" with a mechanic from Frank Hogans in Limerick. Defo Petrol by the sound of it.

Because the year 2011 is denoted twice on the plate. Apart from 11- D- 11, it is the only plate this year with that attribute, which makes it somewhat of a novelty.

    I've seen M3's and M5's with 1113 or 1115 but i've seen a white 08 I think 520D M sport going around with 1115 and raped with M5 badges:rolleyes:
I've also seen a M3 csl with C 51 and it looks well.

Seen some white Kia 4x4 fly past me while I was out running.

11-LH-202 or something was quite surprised that the number was so high but after reading this thread I can see why.

presume its because they are so similar but even the lord mayor cant have 11D1 so ive been told...... 11D111 and 11D1111 were already booked by other people

Work car is life-expired, so I'll probably have an 11 by about April. However, a commercially adapted Focus or Bravo isn't the most exciting prospect...

    What about 11 C 2011, 11 CE 2011, 11 CN 2011, 11 CW 2011, 11 DL 2011, 11 G 2011, etc, etc...

You know what, I'm an idiot. A dublin-centric one at that..

    From the Obnoxious parking thread:

That Merc is so gorgeous I wouldn't mind him parking on my foot!

Anyone know what the story with this one is? Is it the one sold by Cunningham's last year??
