Cheapest first year accomodation.

Hey I was just wondering what is the cheapest first year accomodation ??? would it be on-campus or off campus... I would be looking for less then 2500 p/a is that a long shot ??? Also are there many student jobs available .,.. and would they pay enough to buy weeklyh groceries etc ??
