The camera zoomed in on a sniper hiding in the bush and two swat members hiding behind the the brickwork beyond the carpark. Yeah thats what you do, reveal the position of swat members :P

make it easier on the bank robber. If he doesnt switch on the tv he can always look online for the FOX news stream

If the robbers are in a position to do that. Either way the sharpshooters can always relocate, or service a decoy. But more likely a negotiator would be used to resolve the situation. News crews reveal cop positions in these situations all the time. thats assuming they were watching the feed at all; from what i hear they werent exactly planning on the cops responding as quickly as they had: their getaway plan was a bust. They aren't prepared for a hostage situation.
