When assigning an ambassador for NH Racing in Ireland, would it make sense to get a jockey based 100% of the time in Ireland?

Why is it Barry (if you swerve i'll fall off) Geraghty -isn't he on retainer to Nicky Henderson, who as far as i'm aware is based in the UK??
Doesn't BG only come back for the big days??

What the hell is going on at HQ??

    Eh... no.

Otherwise he would have been riding Punchestown during the week and not racing in IRELAND.

Clearly you don't have a clue and didn't think out this post.

It's not a retainer, more comes into play.

Edited to add Smartaform = Stupidity.

Ah now Bluetonic. He is all but retained by Henderson. 99%

    EDIT

the only thing stopping me from thinking he is retained is him staying over for Big Zeb. If Henderson had a real Champion Chase horse I still think hed get to ride Big Zeb though. Having said all that though hes in a sweet and difficult position. Hes given up Forpady to ride Riverside Theatre in the King George hasnt he?

If they're not in a serious relationship then they must be friends with benefits ;)

It's really not simple, or so I've been told. He has commitments in Ireland (not only BZ) which come before NH. Not only races, but riding out.

So leaving my post above aside, who would be a better ambassador? Someone who raises the bar higher than Geraghty. Maybe we should have Doc in the job? ... come on it's marketing.

As far as I know its the opposite, he is here most of the time and only goes to the Uk for the major days (like Ruby does for PN)....he is not based over there at all for the vast majority of the time

So what you are saying is if a jockey is on a retainer AND has a good working relationship with the trainer, he wouldnt be able to ride other horses?? You are seriously off with the fairies..

Geraghty has worked very closely with NH for the last 3 years and has ALWAYS BEEN AT LEOPARDSTOWN for the xmas festival regardless of what NH has running over that period.

If you decide to read my first post, it states CLEARLY - Why wasn't a jockey, who is based in Ireland 100% of the time the NH Ambassador. Someone like Paul Townend or Davy Russell perhaps.

Are your opinions based off simple racecourse gossip Bluetonic???

A vic, those two you mentioned aren't 100% based in Ireland.

Sorry I had to post a second post but to answer your question, no.

    Does that help?
